Creating Magic in Digital Spaces
PicoBrew is a tech start-up company of several beer brewing machines that personalize craft beer using equipment and ingredients from their BrewMarketplace. I was hired on, as a summer intern, to design a solution that would incorporate PicoBrew’s brand identity and packaging into their website.
The current website was built using the bootstrap GUI with limited brand identity and a confusing navigation system. I broke down the main pages and recreated the nav bar to clearly present the different sections of the website, while keeping a consistent visual identity. Mobile screens of the website where created simultaneously with the desktop screens.
PicoBrew’s e-commerce section looked completely different from other parts of their site and lacked to explain it’s function to first time customers. We simplified the name to “Marketplace” and presented categories to all possible purchases in the “Markerplace”. This included the machines that were previously on a separate section of the website. To encourage return viewing of the site, rotating CTAs to explore beer options and brewery events were also added.
Breweries and Beer
The brewery and beer pages were designed to accommodate templating across numerous brewery companies. I worked on creating a photo and color system to reference the brewery’s identity while keeping with PicoBrew’s type and texture treatment. On the beer page we focused on showcasing the PicoPak, the beer’s information, and community engagement.
Following the brand’s identity, the blog was additionally upgraded with purchase suggestions, and CTAs to subscribe, attend events, and stay connected with the company.
